many literary interviews in Nigeria tend to focus on fiction writers, thereby creating a kind of gap that undercuts the value of poetry in Nigeria. In order to fill up this lacuna and enrich poetic discourse, i decided to do an interview on poets instead, starting with this first set of Nigerian poets:
Uzor Maxim Uzoatu, Jumoke Verissimo and Obari Gomba.
generationally speaking, each of the poets represents a generation, sort of.
the interviews were published in Munyori Literary Journal, Black Looks and the New Black Magazine
so you can click on each of the names to read the interviews:
Uzor
Jumoke
Obari
enjoy!
